Here's my situation, I have a lot of little incidents I want to share and i'd like to know what you think... My wife and I have lived in our apartment for about a year and a half. She use to work 3rd shift as a 911 dispatcher (now 1st shift) at the time we moved in. So I was here alone most evenings. About a week or two after settling in, I was watching TV and noticed out of the corner of my eye what appeared to be a shadow move in our kitchen. When I turned and looked there was nothing there. So I thought it was a floater in my eye or eye strain or something. This happened a few times over the next few months. Then one day my wife had left to go to the store, I was sitting in the bathroom, lets say...reading, with the door closed. All of the sudden I hear someone walk past the bathroom door and open the guest bedroom door. I shout out "hello"? Stephanie? with no reply. I hurry off the commode thinking someone is in the apartment. When I get out in the hall the bedroom door I thought someone had opened is still closed. Nobody's in there. The doors were all still locked. I thought... wtf? Up til this point it's all me. I told Steph about the bathroom experience but not about the shadows. So one night she had off, we were watching a movie on TV. From our couch you have a good shot at our bathroom wall when the door is open. That night it was open and it has the standard apartment white walls. Anyhow I saw a shadow come from the bathroom and head into our bedroom, again out of the corner of my eye. So I turn my head in the direction of the bathroom. That's when I noticed my wife doing the same head turn. She looked bewildered. So I said did you see it too. And she had! So at this point i'm just glad it's not just me see things. Another time, I fell a sleep on the couch watching tv. I felt a hard bump or a kick to the couch. I started to wake up, all be it slowly, when I felt another jolt or kick to the couch, I was almost totally awake when I felt a third jolt. I opened my eyes thinking my wife was trying to wake me but she was not standing there. Then I thought it might be our little mini dachshund who will throw herself on the couch in an attempt to get up on it. But she was sound a sleep it her bed. I asked my wife about it but she said she was in our bedroom on the computer for the past 2 hours and did not try to wake me up. Besides she couldn't have made it out of my sight between the last jolt and when I opened my eyes. I would have seen her. About that time, I jokingly started to call our "ghost" Fred. There have been a couple of scares too. One night we went to bed and Steph had fallen asleep quickly. I was just going under when I heard a noise that woke me. I layed there listening. I then heard the back door open and footsteps in the kitchen. They sounded like work boots to me. I jumped up(waking Stephanie up) and ran into the kitchen KNOWING someone was in there. Steph was scared and started to go for the phone to call 911. Of course when I entered the kitchen the back door was still locked and no one was in there but me. Took me an hour to get back to sleep. The other night I went to let my dog out before going to bed. It was about midnight. I unlocked the door, went to open it and felt the door pull away from me about a half inch.(stronger then the pressure in the house would do) I immediatly pulled the door back and then with me turning the handle clockwise felt the handle start to turn counter clockwise. I paniced! I desperatly tried to lock the dead bolt but I was pulling to hard for the bold to slide into place. So with my left hand I slid the blinds apart to see who was trying to get in.(The back door has a window in it) Again nobody there. It scared the life out of me! One time Stephanie said she was drifting of to sleep in our bedroom while I was out on the couch watching tv. She felt the mattress give way behind her and she thought it was me climbing into bed. She turned to say something to me and nobody was there. She told me about it the next morning. I am a little more freaked out about it than she is. She seems to let it slide, like "geez that was weird... so whats for supper?" kind of thing. Where I'll obsess on it and try to explain it away in my head. WOW! This is too long folks, sorry. This last thing: ...I told her the other week that most of this stuff happeneds to me and jokingly said that FRED needed to let HER know that he was still around. I also told her of a show on ghosts that I had watched where a husband sees his sleeping wifes hair being braided but there was no one there. A few days later we wake up, she goes into the bathroom and I head to the kitchen to make coffee. She calls me into the bathroom to see her hair. One lock of it had been twisted into a curl. My wife has heavy, straight hair. So it takes a lot to get it to curl. I took it and twisted it back, it took 5 twists until I couldn't twist it any more. It had to be twisted tight for it to hold that curl. just one perfect lock. Anyway that weekend, she's off work again and she calls her mom.(her mom has a lot of health problems) She calls, someone picks up but doesn't say anything. I hear Steph saying Hello...Hello... Mom? ...then I see her eyes widen. She said Mom is that you?...Mom? She looks at me and said I heard someone say Hel... like hello but they couldn't get it out. I said does it sound like her and she says not really. It was an airy,husky sounding voice. I said hang up and try again. She did, and again someone picks up but no one said anything. Mom...? ....mom? So I take the phone and say hello? I heard movement but nobody says anything. So we get in the car and go over, (she lives 5 minute away) and Stephs brother and his wife are the only ones there. When she asked him about it, he said the phone rang, he answered it and nobody said anything so he hung up. Both times. Steph heard movement for about a good minute the first time we called. The "Voice" was about 30 seconds into the first call. He said he just answered hello and hung up when he didn't get a response. When we got there he had the tv on and loud, but we didn't hear any background noise when we called. My wife thought it might be Fred. And blamed me! (Ghosts have been known to work through electronics sometimes, from what i've heard). So she said to quit asking him to show her he's still around. Lol. To be honest, I never believed in ghosts until this stuff started. This is most of it but not all of the things we experience. Mostly bumps and little noises like the sound of a door handle jiggle, and stuff I can explain away as "house settling" sounds. I dunno, something's not right but I'm still not sure what I truely believe. What do you think? Could it be a ghost?
