No it's not mandatory. There are no set rules when to investigate. Night is best, for many reasons. Just a couple... 1) You have less daytime traffic,
noises of everyday hustle and bustle that would hender your investigation. 2) Depending where you investigate, building or outside, it's easier to tune
into the spiritual realm. Keep in mind, spirits don't perform by clocks. To them, they consider themselves still amongst us.

An investigation can take up to a few months to complete if you are doing it right.
You'll need to do a historical backround, which means a search of property records, community history and searches of local newspapers on microfilm. Then you need to interview as many people at the location as you can to make a list of events so that you can compile common occurences and evaluate the reliability of the witnesses. No reason to waste your time on meth-heads and people who are looking to promote their B&B. Then you need to do a daytime walk-through of the location in order to note architectural features that may interfere with equipment or may be causing things that are being attributed to the paranormal. After all of that you then do your night time investigation. You just don't pile out of the vanand set up the cameras. |
