I used to be a big believer in ghosts. But, we had a friend die on our property about 8 years ago and if anyone would have come back to haunt it would have
been him. Died unexpectedly, still dealing with a lot of family issues, anger, etc. I expected for him to come back. And nothing ever happened. We moved into
our current home 3 years ago. Almost immediately my son, 12 years old and very level headed, started saying we had a ghost. I thought he was just goofing, even
though he had never believed in ghosts before. He woke up in the middle of the night several times to find a large dog barking at his window. A large cat kept
staring in our sliding glass doors even when all the blinds were shut. Scared the crap out of me one night when I got up and looked out the doors and the cats
stared back at me. One night I got up at 2 am and found 2 of my kids holding bats in the living room. My son had been in living room playing on computer and my
daughter in her room. They heard a huge metallic scraping against the front of the house and its scared the hell out of them. No trees around that part of the
house. A few weeks later we found was looked like fingermarks burned into the screen of my sons window. Several nights my son kept hearing the doorknob turn,
friends spending the night confirmed this. When they told me about this the piano played 3 notes twice. No one around piano and no one was walking around.
Things happened off and on for about 2 years. In the past year nothing has really happened thank goodness. Now let me say that when we moved in here all hell
was breaking loose in my family. My daughter attempted suicide, found out husband was heavily addicted to pain pills and suffered through extreme depressions.
I had huge amounts of anger because of a work situation. Since I left that job my anger has gone. I do wonder if the amounts of emotional turmoil caused the
stuff in house. That would be weird because we have been through much more intense stuff in the past year and haven't had any occurences.

What you may not have experienced or would have like to, children are more keen to the spiritual world as are animals. We adults, may believe we are, but our
everyday lives actually block a lot out that we shouldn't. Adult mediums have learned to tap into this spiritual world. And I might add, WE ALL have the
ability to see the paranormal, some are more tuned in, than most. Odds are your friend was always there, you just never noticed, however your son and animals
did. And yes, stress, turmoil, anger, etc can all be accompanied factors in increased levels of spiritual contact. Spirits tend to feed off this. You might
also want to check the home you moved into 3years ago for other possible deaths etc on the property. This also, could be new and unrelated activity to your
friends passing.

Thanks. The friend died on our former property. It did sound like it was here looking back at my post, sorry for me not writing clearly. But, he died in a
shed. When the shed was moved to our new property stuff did start up again after a period of calm. I don't think anyone has died here. It was all woods
until about 10 years ago, and then my husband's cousin bought the place and had the land cleared. We bought it from her 3 years ago. We still do have stuff
like hearing the front door open, knocking on the front door and no one being there. But, we are usually in another room when we hear that so it could be
something different. I do have a friend who is in a paranormal group. When there was a lot of activity I talked to her about a possible investigation. But, my
husband is a vehement non-believer. so we decided to take a wait and see approach.

Welcome to Shadowlands.. After reading your post, I am thinking that you may want to do a home cleansing and blessing especially since you did move and brought that shed with you.. I know that having 4 cats and a stray that adopted us, that animals mostly cats have come to my home!! I am wondering if these animals are strays or were the from the another neighbors who has pets!! Your family is having some unusual activity too.. Are your children all in their early teens?? I am asking for you mentioned the activity of both son and daughter and sometimes these person's may induce or share the paranormal?
I am so sorry for all these events taking place at once!! The amount of negative energy as titanic003 mentioned is correct.. I am sensing that the attempted suicide by your daughter makes me think that this energy is still around that home and her. In addition, your husband's depressions and your anger too.. You may have stopped or hindered the job anger but the other energies with you home needs to be adjusted and I do suggest that you seek help with the atmosphere in the home.. Blessing and or cleansing a home is a great idea especially if you just moved into a new location. My family used to do a home blessing every time we moved! We were all say some prayers... This is something I do not usually say but I am going to in this situation.. You may have a residual energy haunting ... It is something that I do not talk about but I have seen it happened sometimes in situation when the energies are right to seek out the negative and the energy levels raise.. Would you ever call a priest or other spiritual person to do a home cleansing? It may be just the over dose of negative and depressive energy which is very dark and I was just wanting to make sure that you seek help from an other source or spiritual person around you?? Just to be safe and if you want you and your family can also perform the home blessing and or Cleansing.. It really does help to settle the air so to speak.. |

Sorry haven't gotten back to this. At the time we move in my son was 12, daughter was 15, and my older son (19) visited frequently. I do believe it could
be residual energy. Luckily, we haven't had much activity lately. I think I will ask my friend about the cleansing. I would feel better if someone that had
experience did it. Thanks.

Well... here are my thoughts...
First, not everyone who we think would come back as a ghost actually does. If they don't, that just means that when they passed, they decided to move on. Sometimes when we're thinking about what we would do in a given situation, it turns out to be the exact opposite of what we actually do when it happens. For example, when I was younger I used to say that if I ever caught a girlfriend cheating on me, I would go ballistic and beat the crap out of the guy she was cheating with. Then, when it actually happened, I just laughed it off because I realized that if she was unfaithful then I was better off without her. What I'm saying is that maybe when your friend passed, he realized that all the issues he was dealing with in this world really didn't matter, and went on to whatever big adventure awaited him in the next. As for the activity in your new home... from my own experience, emotional turmoil not only seems to attract things, but also tends to awaken things that may have been there already. And when things calm down, so does the activity. Kind of like a rainstorm in the desert--suddenly plants start to grow where there were none, and animals come from far away to drink at the newly-created waterholes... and then everything dries up again and things go back to the way they were. I think this might partially explain how one family can livi in a home and have nothing unusual happen, and another family moves in and starts having strange experiences. I've also noticed that paying attention to paranormal activity seems to make it stronger, and vice-versa. Anyway, that's my two cents, for what it's worth.
