I wrote a while ago about a presence or presences here on and off since about a week before Christmas 2008. My toddler son who is autistic (so can't tell me what's going on) will wake up screaming sometimes at night. They probably are nightmares or night terrors some of the time. It seems a good amount of times though that he'll start screaming right at the same time as when I am having a dream that suddenly gets invaded by something bad. Example: last night I was having a dream where I was just chit chatting with some people and having a snack. Definitely nothing bad about the dream, dreamtime coffee break basically. Then I here a deep voice that wasn't from someone in the dream start talking about satan. I'm not Christian and don't believe in satan however I do believe in evil spirits. It was immediately right after that voice invaded that my toddler woke up screaming and freaking out. I've had different dream variations of this and each time my toddler will wake up screaming and fighting. I'd like to know who or what this is and how to get rid of it. When my toddler doesn't sleep I can't either and I really can't function well on lack of sleep anymore.

Dream catchers on the windows, and place bay leaves on your window cill and child's window cill... These are some helpful hints that have helped me with night mares and or night terrors but that is just a possible ideas... Other aspects to consider is blessing your home and or cleansing your home and I have placed links for this on the Sensitives and Psychics forum at the top of the forum.. Your child and you may be linked astrally too.. SO that may be why you were having the dream and than your child may have been having the same dream or even was able to pick up your dream himself astrally?? Autistic children/adults may be more opened to the astral veil and or paranormal than what some may realize.. If you do not want to the home cleansing or blessings do try to get the jade stone or dream catcher and placing the bay leaves can be done if you take store bought bay leaves and place them in a baggy or place the actual bay leave on the window cills.. this works fantastic for me and others too

He needs you probably more than most kids need their parents, you being a source of unconditional love and affection. A rip within your dream may trigger his psychic defense, that of screaming out. If he screams, you come along and you are fine and comforting...how better a way can there be to know you yourself are ok. These dreams may hold only personal negative internal energies, nothing ghostly or demonic. A natural and arrogant society may be fears for the long term mental welfare of you and your son. These fears, transposed as demonic energies, can have come forward in otherwise downtime dream states. In truth, the downtime aspect is merely a cover story of the minds creation The dreams may be a way of showing you that life really will work out, will run smoother than it seems it may. By tackling such thoughts now, the future can better be addressed. If dealt with, plans for a great life for your son can be realised without some obstacles being fresh, and scary. Because you know these dreams are frequent and contain similar traits, you can plan for the next one. The mindset has to be 'bring it on punk'. Prepare by a sort of mild meditation, the 10 minutes before you normally sleep. Before lights out one evening, if you play video games online, pick a shooter game. Grab a weapon of choice and while playing the game, imagine the images of the dreams superimposed on the game. Blast the images, shoot the targets of your unhappiness. Relive your best score on the game mentally in that 10 minutes before sleep. Your mind will get the idea and reenact the strategy within the repeating dreams. Another method is chess...let the dark energy make it's move within the dreams, but know you are 2 moves ahead. Let it trap itself - checkmate. On the whole, your experience can be very positive !

The only thing that can escalate a haunting is to succumb to fear of it. Spirits absolutely cannot harm us unless we let them. This is not to blame the victim, far from it, but many people do not realize that we, the living. have the power to protect our homes, ourselves and our loved ones. You need to be strong for your child. Autistic children are very open to this kind of thing and he does not understand what is going on, nor does he currently have the tools to deal with this. You may want to read about lucid dreaming, a technique that helps one control the outcome of their dreams. You also need to reclaim your home by burning sage and standing in the middle of the living room with as assertive an attitude as you can muster. Feel your sense of outrage and that this person has absolutely no right to be tormenting you. Then say something like "This is MY home, you are not going to terrorize us anymore. Leave now, or else! Say it firmly, with no-nonsense, and mean it. Your attitude is paramount. Before you do this, if you wish to ask the spirit's name and what the heck it is trying to prove, this might be helpful, but don't be timid. You may also want to learn the history of the house, as well. Try sprinkling salt around your beds and in the corners, as salt is purifying. At any rate, I too believe in malevolent spirits, just as there are malevolent living people. You wouldn't want a serial murderer living in your house and the same goes for sadistic spirits. And no, I don't believe in demons and I have never encountered one. This spirit may be seeking help in an extremely dysfunctional manner, but the key is to communicate and stand firm. Ignoring a spirit is bad news because attention is what it is seeking, whether it is asking for help, or is acting like a creep. The more you avoid confrontation, the harder the ghost will push you. You offer some unusual advise and some of it may have helped you in the past, but calling a spiritual form out is not always the best way to solve this type of problem. I know that this is something that is often debated about with others in the paranormal field. Some say be drastic and harse and firm while others say that there are other means or ways to get the same job done but with less attitude. I have used both aspects or ways and actually it depends on the situation and why it is happening and it depends on actual other not mentioned factors that were not mentioned or stated ... One has to be very specific and not employ personal emotions to interver with dealing with spiritual forms.. Just like you do not want to be an argument or debate and interject emotion into a logical discussion.. It does not work and both parties end up upset..

All I am saying is that the spirit must be acknowledged and a person cannot succumb to fear. I also do not advocate carrying on, yelling, etc.. I am not "drastic" nor am I "harsh", and it seems you misunderstand me. It is the same as warding off potential muggers;. the first line of defense is to not get picked, in the first place. This is NOT to blame the victim, once again. All I am saying is that people need to learn to reclaim their space and do so firmly (NOT with anger or screaming). What you have implied is offensive to me. Also, yes, every situation IS unique, however if the person wants to be helped, the details need to be added, or at least a means of personal contact given. As a mother of a child that has a condition similar your childs, perhaps I can share with you what my own child has gone through. Since it has little to do with paranormal and more with a childs own development, I rather not post more about it here (a paranormal forum) As far as 'calling out' a spirit...just as it was posted above, every situation is different. However, if you are unknowledgable about spirits and are unprepared to deal with one, calling one out might not be a good idea. You can tell a spirit until you are blue in the face that this is your home and they have to leave, etc, but the truth is, that spirit would leave when it is ready to or until someone strong enough or knowlegable can influence that spirit to go. Good luck to you and your son.

I agree with you 100%, regarding "calling out" which is why I like to try to work with people to try to empower them. There was a show on TV called "Psychic Kids", where a psychologist and a medium worked with budding young psychics to help them overcome their fear of the spirits who were tormenting them, and also to stand up and assert themselves. In every case this technique worked for these kids and they learned how to tap into their own power. This can be done with non-psychics, as well, however as always, the person must be willing to do the work. That is why I suggest things to people, in hopes of opening up a dialogue with them. Of course, if they do not reply or ask questions, there is nothing more I can do, without actually doing the banishment myself. However, people who feel unable or unwilling to learn will inevitably end up calling the same spirits back again, and others, as well. To me, it is better to help people to help themselves, even after a cleansing, for it beats them having to run to someone else, every time something happens. I do not claim to know everything....far from it. But I do know what has worked for me, in the past, AND the present. Thanks!

The average lay person doesn't, and chances are good the spirit knows their fear renders them useless to 'follow through' with 'or else'. To me, 'or else' sounds like a threat, and a challenge. A malignant entity more likely than not, will accept said challenge. Furthermore you stated you don't believe in demons. I've heard them. I've been confronted by them, and they do exist. She's probably not going to be able to frequent the boards very much, as she is simply swamped with helping so many people Speaking of Spiritlady, I've just got to say, as I've gotten to know her better, one of the things I respect so much about her is, whatever she says or does is based on sending out love. She is humble, self-sacrificing, and doesn't let her knowledge and experience come across as being a "know-it-all." That is a hard thing to pull off, but she does it with class, and sometimes sass, but never at anyone else's expense. I won't presume to speak for her, but she did want me to confirm Sidney's comments, especially about the existence of demonic entities definitely being real. Shining Fox, you have certainly stirred the ire of many posters here. I really hope that will not become a habit. Some folks are just naturally more assertive, and that comes across in their writing. But, I would caution you to take greater care with your wording, at least until everyone gets to know you better. I see in your words your eagerness to help, but several people have told me they see those words coming across as kind of arrogant, and I do not believe that is your intent. When there is a high degree of tension in a topic, like this one that was brought to my attention, it's my job to step in and try to diffuse the situation. Naturally, everyone offers advice based on their own experiences and beliefs. We respect everyone's right to their own beliefs, but sometimes those beliefs lead to offering advice that is not considered sound or safe to those of us who manage this board. Everyone will try to let you know when they do not agree, and some do it more tactfully than others, but overall, I believe our hearts are in the right place, and we all truly want to help people. People who ask for advice have the caveat of weighing that advice carefully, and making their own decisions after weighing all the facts and opinions they have gathered. It would be wise to corroborate those facts and opinions by doing the research themselves as much as possible from resources they can trust. Now, Shining Fox, I need to note some of your comments and why it seems they have made people mad. You said "It seems you misunderstand me..." I understand (and can appreciate the intent) that you think you were enabling the original poster, wednesday, to overcome her fear and were trying to teach her "self-empowerment" by telling her to confront whatever is scaring them and "reclaim their space" by trying to show bravado in an assertive way. Unfortunately, that is not good advice, especially if the entity is a strong negative one, or if it is one like many people call "demonic." (Not everyone agrees on this, but many of us know from our personal experience that those things do exist, and are capable of affecting human and animal minds, and by doing so, may make you cause harm to yourself or others. They are able to enter dreams, and can cause severe illness and bodily harm. Those are the ones that an Exorcist is especially needed to deal with, and from what wednesday said in her post, it could have been either human or non-human in origin.) Yet, you were perfectly clear in suggesting to wednesday that she "acknowledge" by calling out to an unknown entity and threaten them with the vague and ineffective warning, "OR ELSE." When you restated your initial comments, you made it sound like Merlyn was rude or intentionally trying to offend you, but no, he just doesn't want you to suggest to anyone that a deep unknown voice talking about Satan can be intimidated, because YOU do not believe in demons, or that believing you can do something ensures that you actually can. (Obviously, believing helps helps us achieve many wondrous things, but doesn't always make things a reality.) I really hate to nitpick comments apart, and it's impossible to please everyone, but I hope I have been able to show you why your posts were upsetting to some, and hope we all will do our utmost to show respect to each other when we express our disagreements. We have a great group of people here, and it would be wonderful if we would all make the effort to get along, despite our differences of opinion. Her abilities are phenomenal but she remains, as always, a lady.... okay, now my fat american butt is going back to couch to catch up on operation repo, trying to figure out if i bought an actual 'printer' (I thought i did but now i'm not so sure), and practice belching out the rest of the 'alphabet'....or maybe not. Belching can hurt if done repititiously and without a real reason.

I also have a real problem with the concept of "infinite evil", which, in my estimation, sabotages any effort to combat something like this, because it is too overwhelming. Also the concept of good is simply the other side of the coin, so neither is "infinite". Certainly you must proceed with caution, against a malevolent spirit. I am not reckless or stupid. The point I was making was the level of skill that someone who isn't an exorcist trying to take matters in their own hands. You need an exorcist or psychic to do that. I never said they couldn't do anything, but they don't have the knowledge or experience that a psychic does to analyze and help them effectively. That's what 'layperson' means. That was not my conscious intention, either, but I can see how you would easily come to that conclusion rereading my post. It was just how my thoughts were going amidst the multiple interruptions of a two-hour posting being completed. It would have been best if I had made two separate threads, and maybe even PM'd you privately, but I was seriously trying to have everyone involved see both points of view. I failed miserably, apparently. Perhaps I try too hard to be politically correct and come off as "looking down from on high." Please note, I did not call you arrogant, but said several people have mentioned that they got that impression from how you word things, and I tried to suggest you might want to check that out, if you wish to get along with most people in this life, let alone this forum. And no wonder Wednesday has not come back. I disagree because the advice that Shining Fox gave I have seen each and everyone of you praise as good advice in the past. Well, except the "or else" part. Which I don't agree with either. In fact, Slider gave similar advice and I don't see you coming down on him. And look at Merlin's initial advice to her; put a stone under your pillow, strings on your window, and a bay leaf on the windowsills--all magickal objects; when in the past he has bragged that he can identify spirits through distance viewing. Why didn't he offer that help? I don't think Shining Fox was arrogant at all in her post to Wednesday, she did get a bit arrogant in answering all the attacks against her post (which is understandable). And I suspect I will get blasted for the advice I posted tonight for Ladysiam. (sigh)

Slider was saying through meditation to confront the entity, and thus let the protective shield you built up repeat itself through the night. None of us had any problem with that because there was no threatening invocation to the entity. " Once again, his approach was different because he suggested using physical objects with metaphysical properties to soothe the situation. Both these members were advocating meditation and introducting objects as a resolution to dealing with Wednesday problem. Also, Slider has not posted to this since so we have no way of knowing whether or not he agreed with shining fox, but merlyn and the rest of people here did not and voice their opinion in a professional manner. You also said "And no wonder Wednesday has not come back". The evidence doesn't support this. The last log in for Wednesday was 5/22. MM responded 5/25, and slider 6/02. Wednesday has not logged on since she left this post which is 5/22. If she's seen this post it's been as a guest user and not under her own id. i didn't want to rehash this issue because it's morphed into something ugly, however I wanted to point out to you the differences between slider and merlyns post. i won't challenge your empathy for Shiningfox, but we did not attack her, but pointed out that taking the verbal 'or else' approach was not always the best way to approach this situation just in case Wednesday or someone else facing a similar issue was reading this for advice on how to deal with their problem. (sigh) I have to disagree with this entire interlude. And no wonder Wednesday has not come back. I disagree because the advice that Shining Fox gave I have seen each and everyone of you praise as good advice in the past. Well, except the "or else" part. Which I don't agree with either. In fact, Slider gave similar advice and I don't see you coming down on him. And look at Merlin's initial advice to her; put a stone under your pillow, strings on your window, and a bay leaf on the windowsills--all magickal objects; when in the past he has bragged that he can identify spirits through distance viewing. Why didn't he offer that help? I don't think Shining Fox was arrogant at all in her post to Wednesday, she did get a bit arrogant in answering all the attacks against her post (which is understandable). And I suspect I will get blasted for the advice I posted tonight for Ladysiam. (sigh) I posted a reply to Wednesday, however, I don't ever recall praising Shining Fox for her reply. I don't agree with Slider either, but I felt that the advice from Shining Fox was more dangerous. Sliders advice leaned towards dreams and I am one that does not feel that spirit communication via dreams is reliable. I felt that Wednesday should seek more help or assistance for her son medically or psychologically before she starts looking for the paranormal because the incidents with her son might be normal for him.

The clarification of previous posts and similar advice in different situations was especially helpful, I believe. Wednesday (and all other readers), please don't let the pointed discussion between members scare you off from posting or asking additional questions. While we all do have our various opinions, every single one of us here is doing our very best to help and offer advice from our own experiences and observations. The number one thing we all try to achieve is, First: do no harm. Second: listen carefully and offer sound advice if we have any; and, if we don't have anything useful to say, be quiet. Third: Be open to reviewing other points of view which are different than our own. Doesn't mean we have to agree with it, but listen and consider other points of view, as we just might learn something new. Fourth: Try not to show disrespect to anyone else. We all know how hard that is in everyday life, but this particular site requires at least the best attempt you are capable of in order to remain a member and actively post.
